Guyana’s men have booked there spot in Sunday’s final of the CAC Games qualifiers and a place in next year’s CAC Games after drubbing Panama nine nil.
Guyana’s ruthless display was led by Aroydy Branford who got on the score sheet four times, he opened the scoring in the 9th minute from the penalty spot as the first quarter ended 1 nil. Branford returned in the 18th minute to double Guyana’s lead from open play, Jamarj Assanah in the 29th minute and Captain Robert France a minute later made it 4 nil.
Branford completed his hat-trick in the 38th minute concerting from a penalty corner, Jamarj Assanah in the 48th minute made it six nil. Branford got his fourth goal of the match and his sixth of the tournament in the 49th minute before Robert France and Jael Gaskin in the 56th and 59th completed the rout.
Guyana now leads the standing on maximum six points ahead of Jamaica on six and will finish their preliminary round of matches against Jamaica on Saturday @ 4pm
The late game of the day between Jamaica and Guatemala has been rescheduled for Friday morning @ 9:30 due to persistent rain.
