Puerto Rico vs Guyana – Women’s CAC Games Qualifier

Puerto Rico registered their first win of the CAC games Qualifiers after beating Guatemala four nil at the JN Mona Hockey Field. The Puerto Ricans came into the game on the back of two goalless draw with Bermuda and Guyana and is now tied on five points with Guyana who has a superior goal difference.

The Puerto Ricans were made to work hard for the three points as Guatemala defended stoutly for the first quarter. Captain Josefina Freaney sent Puerto Rico in front in the 41st minute with a brilliantly executed pancake shot that landed in the top right corner of the goal.

Lyneishka Leon got Puerto Rico’s second finishing off a beautiful dribble from captain Freaney. Kayla Chapman in the 49th minute and Marisa Batista in the 60th round off the scoring for Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico’s next game will be against host Jamaica on Thursday @ 12:30, Guyana will be up against Bermuda @ 10:30.
